The Franke Reading Room is open to SAIC faculty and staff by appointment on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 1:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Walk-ins are not possible.
In this calendar, you may make an appointment for one or multiple visits in a single request. If you need assistance booking multiple appointments, contact libraryappt@artic.edu.
To prepare for your visit, log in to our online catalog using your SAIC credentials. You must submit your requests for library materials through our online catalog a minimum of 48 hours prior to your appointment. If we have not received your requests by that time, we will not be able to prepare for your visit and your appointment will be canceled.
These appointments are reserved for SAIC faculty and staff to review library-use-only materials or retrieve circulating materials. In-person reference assistance is available during this time. Please note that class visits may be scheduled during your appointment. We make every effort to provide an environment conducive to both active learning for the group and to individual research. Please let the reference librarian know if there is anything that we can do to improve your individual research experience while groups are in the reading room.
